DSML and schema definition

Standard DSML cannot modify schema and create new types which was quite frustrating and limiting. It can just retrieve somehow schema from LDAP.

To skip this limitation I've created reserved word (attribute) called MOD (or mod), which is abbreviation for modifier that can have one of:

  • AUXILIARITY
  • ABSTRACT
  • STRUCTURAL

values. It is single-value attribute. Whenever DSML request contains this "mod" attribute in addRequest, add operation tries to create new type instead of new instance in directory. This is simple, flexible and powerfull enough.
